Dr. Dust was my undergraduate supervisor at Grenfell for my honours thesis. He helped kindle my desire to pursue a career in organic chemistry, and he is directly responsible for where I am today. His confidence in me is why I got into grad school. I will forever be thankful for his honest advice and guidance, and only wish we had the opportunity to catch up over a beer and show him how much of an impact he has had on my studies and career path since we last parted ways. He should be proud of all the students he has led on such a path. He has added at least one green chemist on the path of trying to change the world for the better through chemistry, and I hope planting a tree in his memory honours this legacy.

Dr. Dust was my undergraduate and honours thesis supervisor. I would not be where I am today without his mentorship, support, and unfettered advice.

I am very sad to hear of Dr. Dust's passing. I have many fond memories of him from my undergrad days; his door was always open for questions about Organic Chemistry or life in general. That fact that he always brought chocolates during exam time shows his thoughtfulness! I have great respect for him and am thankful that he had a hand in my education. He will surely be missed by myself and many other former students.

Dr. Dust, When I think of my undergrad, I think of you. When I think of grenfell, I think of you. When I think about where I am now, I think of you. Thank you for believing me, mentoring me, and pushing me. I wouldn’t have accomplished what I did without your guidance. You will be truly missed, but always in my heart. Rest in power, Dust.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Dr Julien Dust. He taught me Chemistry at Grenfell College a number of years ago. I remember him as both a great Professor and also a great Friend who would always be there for help and guidance and a big friendly smile and a friendly chat. Condolences to his family and friends. Rest easy.

So sorry to hear of Julian’s passing. My Dad (Bill Layden) always spoke fondly of Julian and enjoyed a recent visit from him. I remember Julian as a kind, teddy bear of a man :).
