Dear Joyce, Joanne, Kenneth and Family We were so sorry to learn of Eric's passing. When Susan called to tell us that he had passed, Art and I were filled with deep sadness. It was only a few days ago that we had a long distance called with Jean informing us of Eric's admittance to pallative care. Eric was a great friend and neighbour during the years we lived next door. We will always remember his kindness to our Susan as she and Joanne journeyed through school together. We know that his love for you all will bring strength and comfort in the days ahead. So sorry for all who loved this great man so dearly. Mr. Fitz or Eric Fitz was a dear friend of my mother for years down at the mill and he served with my father in the Korean War. Never in my life have I seen him anywhere without sharing a smile and a hug.We will surely miss him forevermore.

My condolences to Joyce and family. I first met Eric when I made my first visit to Corner Brook many years ago. He displayed his kindness by showing off Corner Brook to us as he and his car made sure that nothing was missed. John and I have been grateful and happy to callEric and Joyce friends for a long time. His memory will live on with all who knew him and his sense of humour will never be forgotten.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Fitz's passing. We have been friends - good, good friends, for 80 years. We have so many memories of our times together and treasure every one of them. We are so very glad we were able to see Fitz and Joyce in June when we were in Newfoundland. Our hearts go out to Joyce and family at this very sad time. He will be deeply missed.
