Q: What will you never forget about Yvonne?
A: Yvonne was my father's (Robin) sister. She was one of the first members of my father's family that I got to know. She came to California several times as I was growing up, sharing many things about Newfoundland and about my dad as he was growing up. I learned to make brown bread during one of her visits while I was in high school. I was able to make it several times for my dad; after that, it created a great memory for both of us.
I went to Corner Brook a few years ago with my husband, Yvonne, and Heber showed us around, letting me see many places I had heard about as I was growing up. It was a wonderful experience. On this visit, Yvonne learned how to use Facebook on her iPad so she could see her kids and grandkids. And Rich shared fishing videos with Heber, showing him what the fish looked like underwater. We all had a great time. It was one of the last times I saw Aunt Yvonne, a time I will always remember.
I pray that God will give Yvonne's family peace during this time of loss. Knowing that Yvonne is in a place that she knows well. This beautiful woman of God will rest in peace.
All my love to you, Aunt Yvonne,
Emerald
