It is with great sadness as I write this to you Gerald and all of your family and many friends. It was not long ago we spoke to each other and dad was the topic of conversation. Dad had a special place in his heart for you as did many. I certainly didn’t think I would be reading your obituary or writing this today. Me and you had many yarns over the years and I certainly cherished everyone and expected to have had a few more. The road of Life as we know has many turns , hills and valleys we must navigate as we go but the unknowns are best left as they are because it would be hard to enjoy those we have ahead of us. You were a flamboyant figure in the room,you had a real presence among people that brought smiles and laughter. I will certainly miss you my friend and if there is an afterlife I’m sure dad has met up with you by now. Say hi to him for me. God bless you and your family Doris during this difficult time. You will be missed by many Gerald MacDonald but certainly never to be forgotten. RIP my friend as you keep the forests of heaven trimmed to perfection as I’m sure you will find a tree to lean on.
