The family of the late Phyllis Loder would like to express our appreciation and thanks to everyone who sent cards of condolences, food, flowers, monetary gifts, and donations.

Thank you to those who came to the visitation and the funeral.  Special thanks to Rev. Tanya White and Rev. David Russell who performed the funeral service and comforted us during such a difficult time.  Special thanks must be given to her granddaughter, Jessica, who read and her sister-in-law, Willie for playing the organ at the service.

Words cannot express how grateful we are for the nurses and doctors on both the 2nd and 4th floors of the WMRH, and the staff of Mountain View Estates - Your compassion and kindness will always be cherished.

We would also like to thank Jessica and the staff of Fillatre’s Funeral Home for all of their help, care, and professionalism.

It is with heavy hearts the family of Phyllis Loder announce her passing at the age of 82 surrounded by her beloved husband, Derek of 62 years, and loving family.  She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Connie Loder and Debbie (David) Collins; her loving son in heaven, Ken Loder; grandchildren, Jessica (Dimitri) Osmond, Scott (Laura) Collins, Derek (Sheena) Loder, Tara (Aaron) Darroch, Kyle Loder, Alex Collins, Andrea (Harry) Collins; great-grandchildren, Riley Loder, Morgan and Clark Darroch; Spencer Hurley; sisters, Joyce Rolfe, Judy (Laurence) Chaulk; brother-in-law, Phonse Hartery; sisters-in-law, Bev (Gord) Mullin, Frances McKeagan , Elaine. (Ab) Cooper and brother-in-law Alan (Willie) Loder; as well as a large number of nieces and nephews.

 

She was predeceased by her parents Ron and Rhoda Johnson, her son Ken Loder, her sisters Frances Hartery, Doreen Humber, parents-in-law George and Evelyn Loder; brothers-in-law, Roger Leblanc and Bob McKeagan.

 

Phyllis was loved by many and was a proud grandparent. She loved to laugh, sing, dance, knit, and go to her trailer. She loved dogs, especially Thunder and Sophie. 

 

The family would like to thank Doctors Boley and White, the compassionate nurses and staff on floors 2 and 4 at Western Memorial Hospital for all of the care and understanding given during this difficult time. It will not be forgotten. We would like to express sincere thanks to the staff at Mountain View Retirement Home for her care over the past two years. We would also like to extend our appreciation to both Rev. David Russell and Rev. Tanya White who have been very supportive and will be officiating at the funeral.

 

The visitation for all family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 24, 2022, from 7-9 pm at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on St. Marks Avenue. There will be a private family funeral service held on Friday, November 25, 2022. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s foundation or a charity of one’s choice.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 2:00pm from Mount Patricia Cemetery. Refreshments will be served at All Saints Anglican Church on Clarence Street after the burial concludes, all are welcomed to join.
