It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Edward Calvin Wells announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the age of 63 years.
Edward was a proud lifetime member of the Ironworkers Local 764, where he met a large circle of friends who often referred to him as "Big Iron". Edward loved spending his time outdoors, either hunting, fishing or at his cabin cutting a load of wood. Edward also loved a good yarn and to have a good laugh.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Rose (nee Carew). His three Daughters: Jennifer Parsons (Robert), Michelle Penney (Dwayne), and Robyn Donahue (Frankie); his precious grandchildren who were the lights of his life and who he was so proud of; Emily, Lexie, Easton, and Lincoln. His Mother Margaret Wells; Brother’s Doug, Melvin (Donna), Jeff (Kelley), Clint (Amanda); Sister’s Barbara Ann (Gordon), Kim, Donna, and Regina (Peter); Sister's in-law Patti (Rod), Juanita (Dave), Gladys (Brian), as well as a large circle of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, extended family and many friends.
He was predeceased by his Father, David, Brother, Lawrence, Father and Mother-in-law, Milfred and Iona Carew, Brother-in-law, Peter and Nephew John Snow.
As per Edward's wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service held at this time. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank-You to the staff of the Dialysis Unit for their care and compassion over the last six years, especially Nurses Linda Batstone, Keith Simmonds, and Margie Attwood. As well as Dr. Fudge and Dr. Murphy. Our gratitude is also extended to the H.I.S Fire Dept. and the Paramedics for their professionalism and compassion.
“If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane,
I’d walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.”
