Card of Thanks

Marilyn’s Family would like to thank the community for its support. Thank you to friends and family for visiting Marilyn in her last days and for support after her passing. Thank you to siblings, relatives and friends that journeyed from afar to support and console. Thank you also for the support of relatives and friends that were unable to make the journey.

Thank you to medical support workers in the region including the staff on the fifth floor at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.  Thank you to community health programs and employees.

Thank you to Filatres for exceptionally comforting services. Thank you to Father Terry, Brian, the choir and members of the church for support and service. Thank you to the auxiliary for the funeral reception.

Again, thanks to the community for its warm support of our family and all of our families in these times.

Marilyn (May) Coleman

On February 6, 2025, Marilyn peacefully completed a wonderful life.

Marilyn was gentle with an active way; gardening, walking, swimming, bowling, snowshoeing, skiing and fishing were some of her favorite activities. She also enjoyed the fulfillment of working; some remember her many years as the Avon Lady, resulting as much in friendships as cosmetic sales.

Many years of volunteer activity connected her spirit to the community and her days of service at the hospital gift shop connected her to the kind care she received from staff and family at the hospital at the end of her journey.

Marilyn’s life is celebrated and remembered by her husband Jim, son David, siblings Dean, John, Joan, Eva, Joy, Ena, Lois and Sandra, and by many loving family members and friends.

Please join the celebration of Marilyn at Filatres Funeral Home, 4 St Marks Avenue in Corner Brook on Wednesday, February 12 from 2pm - 4pm and from 7pm - 9pm.

The Cremation Service is at Filatres Funeral Home and Chapel on Thursday, February 13 at 10am.

Marilyn loved to let them grow, instead of flowers she would have encouraged donations to:
