Dora Lavallee Dumaresque

January 24, 1964 - February 10, 2025

It is with great sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing of Dora Lavallee Dumaresque on Monday , February 10th, 2025 at the age of 61 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Leaving to mourn is her loving and devoted husband Douglas Dumaresque: her brothers Adrien ( Lavina), Jerome (Antoinette-deceased) step-brother Ellis (Mildred), Sisters, Rita (Antoine-deceased), Bernice

She is predeceased by her loving parents, Carmella (Jones) Lavallee and Lawrence Lavallee, brother Jimmy (Patsy Joncas), stepbrother Alex (Greta ), step sister Allie and Mother-in-law Mabel Dumaresque. She leaves to mourn her loving nieces and nephews, including special nephew Wayne. She also leaves to mourn a huge circle of friends, near and far, who meant the world to her.

Dora spent and cherished her daily life, when not working, socializing with her friends, whether enjoying a meal, having coffee at Robins, the weekly bingo, Sunday drives with her sister, skidoo rides and ice fishing. To Dora, every day was a good day, as long as she had her devoted husband by her side and her family and friends nearby. In Dora’s eyes, life was worth the living, just because she lived. Her daily presence in those who knew and loved her will continue to have a lasting impact.

On behalf of Dora’s husband Doug, it is with the utmost gratitude and appreciation that he extends a sincere thank you to each and everyone in all the nearby Communities and beyond for their kindness, support and time that they have shown to Dora. Dora was diagnosed in March 2023 with cancer and for the nearly two years, the kindness and support in every way  will always be remembered and never forgotten. A special thank you to the homecare support in L'Anse au Clair, the staff at Labrador-South health care, the staff at St. Anthony hospital and everyone who offered support and assistance during Dora’s last days at home. In Granting her wishes, cremation is to follow . A celebration of life for Dora will be on February 22nd, at 6:30 NL time at the Community centre in L'Anse au Clair for all family and friends .
