Kevin Joseph Gardner
March 14, 1946 - February 8, 2025
Entered into eternal life, following a brief illness at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador on February 8, 2025, Kevin Joseph Gardner aged 78 years old.
Kevin was born to loving parents, Patrick and Edith (Bragg) Gardner, on March 14, 1946, in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Besides his parents, Kevin was predeceased by two special angels, son Glenn Patrick and brother John Stephen, and members of the Bragg, Heale, Murphy, Norris, White, and Gardner families.
Mourning this loss are his two daughters, Lesley Gardner (Hamilton, ON) and Lori Schaeffer (Carlos Zaldivar) (Chapin, South Carolina), and their mother Rosalie (Gardner) Squires (Richard deceased). Kevin leaves to mourn two loving grand-children Tegan and Owen Schaeffer. He also leaves behind, brother Ted (Gerri) Gardner in Quispamsis, NB and niece Robyn (Steven) and nephew Christopher (Joanne), and their families. Kevin leaves behind many friends and relatives who share in this loss, including members of the Bragg, Heale, Murphy, Norris, White, and Gardner families. He also leaves to mourn his RCMP family.
Kevin retired from the RCMP where he proudly worked for more than 35 years, first in St. John's and then in the Corner Brook Detachment. Kevin was not only dedicated to his job as Electronic Technologist in charge of Communications for Corner Brook and Western Newfoundland, but he also loved every aspect and took great pride in his work. Kevin instilled this pride in his co-workers, under his supervision, often praising each one for jobs well done. This made him well respected among his staff and together they operated a very efficient Communications Workshop.
A special thank you to the caring health professionals that helped Kevin, in both St. John’s and Corner Brook, including the hospital staff, nurses, and doctors who provided support and comfort in his last days. Now that Kevin has completed his life’s incredible journey, he will fly high with his special angels Glenn and John, as well as other family members. May his kind and gentle soul truly rest in peace. Funeral to take place at a later date in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
