It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roland William Layden announce his passing on February 13, 2025 at the Labrador South Health Centre in Forteau, Labrador at the age of 88 years.

Leaving to mourn with many fond memories, his wife Fannie; children Randell (Velda) and Dalphine (Derek); grandchildren Sheena (Trent), Joshua (Jessica), Lucas (Dominique); great grandchild Keegan; as well as many relatives and close friends, some of which include Kassidy and Kelsey.

Roland was well known to the staff at the Long-Term Care unit in Forteau where he spent most of his days to be with Fannie. We greatly appreciate each and every staff member who helped him in every way possible. Also, the staff of the emergency and palliative care units for your constant care for Dad over the last few days.  His legacy will continue to live on in the lives he has touched and those who loved him. Roland spent most of his life on the sea, this was where he was most contented.  His sailing days are now over, he reached his destination. Heaven is his home.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 16^th at 11: AM from the Gospel Hall in Red Bay
