Obituary of Benjamin Harvey Butler
Please share a memory of Benjamin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with a broken heart that I must say “See ya later” to the love of my life. Ben was born on July 13, 1947 to Ben and Marion Butler of Cox’s Cove. He was a hard-working man who had many talents. His woodworking hobby was something he truly enjoyed, he spent many hours at it. He enjoyed hunting and going for drives in the country. We met 40 years ago when he was driving the passenger bus from Cox’s Cove to Corner Brook. Every day was met with new challenges but our love for each other carried us through.
Ben leaves to mourn the love of his life Jean, or “his rock” as he would say, two sons Todd (Fran) and Trevor (April) of Kitchener, Ontario, two grandchildren Olivia (Nick), Riley (Katie) and two great-grandchildren: Georgia and Lennon. His brother Wade (Sue), sister-in-law Liza Parsons (Bruce) and a large number of nieces and nephews. He also leaves his little fur buddy Charlie and his buddy Bill Parsons.
He is predeceased by his step-daughter Laura, parents Ben and Marion Butler, brother Lowell, great-nephews Braeden Bannister and Donnie, in-laws Frank and Josephine Hunt, and sister-in-law Lillian.
As per the family's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Funeral service information will be announced at a later date.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Gould, Dr. Fudge, Dr. Lugowski, and the nurses at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital’s ICU. Your care and patience were the best.
