Karen Sheila Hillier
February 22, 1965 - February 24, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Sheila Hillier, a beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend, of Paradise, NL, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on February 24, 2025, at the age of 60.

Born in Corner Brook to loving parents Ruby and Norman Hillier, Karen grew up in a close-knit family. After high school, she moved to St. John’s and became a Registered Nurse.

Karen dedicated 33 years to nursing, specializing in mental health, a field she was deeply passionate about.

A lover of all animals, especially cats, Karen enjoyed travelling, long drives, puzzles, and drawing. She especially cherished hearing stories and seeing photos of the adventures of her family’s children and fur babies. Above all, she treasured the 40 years she spent with her wife, Elsie. Their commitment, love, and devotion to each other were a true inspiration and one to be admired.

Karen is survived by her adoring wife, Elsie; children Ron (Sue), Tonia, and Francine; her parents, Ruby and Norman Hillier; siblings Glenda, Brian (Ruth), Bruce (Kim), and Joyce (Alvin); nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom held a very special place in her heart.

She will be reunited in Heaven with her beloved niece, Heather.

Although our hearts are broken, Karen’s memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Visitation for family and friends to be held at Fillatre Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, Corner Brook on Friday, February 28^th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm with a service at 8:30pm.
