Kathleen Wanda Power
June 17, 1960 - February 27, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathleen Power, who left us on February 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kathy, born on June 17, 1960, in Corner Brook, NL, was in her 65th year.
She was predeceased by her beloved grandparents, Cicily and Robert Wareham of Salmon Cove, and Walter and Alma Simms of Corner Brook. Kathy leaves behind her loving husband of 35 years, Terry; her two cherished children, Ernest (Beth-Anne) and Alison (Ashleigh); and two grandsons, Harley and Walker.
Kathy will also be deeply missed by her parents, James and Ethel Simms; her sister, Deanna and brother in law Ray. She will be lovingly missed by her wonderful sister in law Sadie who spent so much time caring for her and was by her side with Terry on her hardest days.
She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family, dear friends and colleagues, who were lucky to know her.
Kathy dedicated 29 years of her life as a long-term care registered nurse in Corner Brook, NL. Her career was a true testament to her compassion and dedication, as she cared for thousands of patients throughout her time in healthcare. She was a true angel on earth who helped and healed and cared deeply for so many. Kathy was and always will be, a true angel.
Kathy’s passion for her work was only surpassed by her incredible sense of humor, her sharp memory, and her love for storytelling. Whether on the dance floor or surrounded by loved ones, Kathy brought joy and laughter to all who knew her.
Music and most importantly, her family, were the heart of Kathy's world. She will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, warmth, and kindness, which touched the lives of everyone.
Kathy’s family and friends find solace in the knowledge that her love and light will continue to shine brightly in their hearts forever.
Rest in peace, Kathy. You will be missed beyond measure and loved forever.
