Obituary of Mary Plowman

December 11, 1944 - March 4, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom Mary Plowman (nee Lavers) of Port Saunders, NL, who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025 at the Western Memorial Regional  Hospital in Corner Brook, at the age of 80.  She is predeceased by her husbands George and Patrick; son David, parents Ella and Moses; sisters  Evelyn, Christina and baby Chistina.

Leaving to celebrate her life are her children, Monte (Veronica Atkins), Jordan (Lana Zaytsoff); grandchildren Brittany Christina Young, Madison Mary Atkins-Plowman, Lucas George Plowman; siblings; Kay (Lorraine) Hamlyn, Marilyn (Jody) Dobbin, Martin (Ina) Lavers and  brother-in-law Phillip Johnson, special friend Pat (Greg) O'Keefe; and a large circle of extended family and friends.

We give thanks to the wonderful homecare workers Holly and Doreen for their highest quality of care and kindnesss shown. Our thank you is  also extended to  the loving staff of Corner Brook Long term Care for their utmost compassion.

Mary was known for her faith in God and her love of family.  She enjoyed spending evenings at the cabin surrounded by the company of loved ones while sharing a glass of wine. Laughter and fun were sure to follow.   Mary was known in her community as a Postal Clerk which she fulfilled the role for many years. 

She will be forever missed..

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Service of Rememberance in her honour on Monday, March 10, 2025 @ 2pm, St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Port Saunders.  Father Jaison officiating.

Inurnment to take place at a later date.
