Daniel Bruce Power

Stephenville Crossing, NL

July 25, 1956 – March 13, 2025

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Daniel Bruce Power on March 13, 2025 at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL in his 68^th year surrounded by his family and close friends.

Daniel leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his brother Paul, neice Rebecca of St. John’s, NL nephews: Chris (Kayla), great nephew Lochlan, Michael of Labrador City, NL.  Very special cousin Bill Power of St. George’s, NL who was by his side until his very last breath.

Daniel will also be loved and missed by his second family:  caretaker Josephine (Cyril) Tucker  their daughter Jennifer who was like the sister he never had and her children Brady and Chad of Stephenville Crossing , special friends:  Donald (Amanda Hinks)  their daughters McKenna, Madison of Edmonton, AB.  He will also be missed by fur buddies Abby and Dexter.  Daniel was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by his second family.

He was predeceased by his parents Mike and Irene Power and brother Fintan Power.

Daniel was known for his kindness and love for his family and friends.  He loved a good game of crib.  Daniel’s native culture meant a lot to him.  He enjoyed playing his drum and attending drumming at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Center.

As per Daniel’s request cremation has taken place.  A burial service will take place at a later date in Labrador City.  As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to a Charity of Ones’ Choice.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Pallative Care and ICU units for their support and care during this difficult time.  Also a special thank you to the Bay St. George Long Term Care Center for their care and professionalism.  

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing, NL.
