It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Joan Wiseman announce her passing on Friday, March 14, 2025 at the Western Long Term Care, Palliative Care Unit at the age of 91 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Lynne (Paul) Ross; grandchildren: Jarrod and Hailey; great-grandchildren: Scarlett and Isaac; brothers: Melvin (Selma) and Wallace; sisters-in-law: Clara and Daphne Thomas; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and lifetime friends. She was predeceased by her husband Roy, sisters Geraldine Ferguson and Renee Penney, brothers Garfield, Maxwell and Clyde. A special thank you to the 3 paramedics who transferred mom and the Palliative Care team, who on short notice took care of mom for the very short time she was in their care. Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Thursday, March 20 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel on Friday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m. with Majors Wilburt and Bertha Abbott officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patrcia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the SPCA or Scaredy Cat Rescue.
