On behalf of the family of Dean O’Neil, we would like to express our thanks to everyone for their condolences to our family, sent cards, food and flowers.
A special thank you to Doctors and nurses of 5A, Palliative Care Unit and to Fillatre’s Funeral Home.

Dean (Denny) Joseph O’Neil
June 20th, 1939 – March 15th, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dean (Denny), a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Denny passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on March 15, 2025, at the age of 85.
A man of simple pleasures, he found joy in the love of his family, especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. Denny was a hard worker, holding many jobs throughout his life, always providing for his loved ones with dedication and strength. He had a passion for the outdoors, often found camping, enjoying nature, and fixing cars in the backyard. He was the kind of person who could always be counted on, offering his time and skills to those who needed it. Denny leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and a life well lived. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace Denny.
He leaves to mourn with loving memories, his wife of 64 years, Jean. His children; Dean (Bev), John (Tracey), Gerald (Carol), Donna (Darrell) Hollett, Tina, Joy (Dan) Buffett. His grandchildren; Dean, Vickie, Ashley, Mitchell, Brian, Jennifer, Hanna, and Julia, 11 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Brothers and sisters; Linda (Ron) Keirstead, Marg (Wilfred) Rorison, Agnes Merriles, Gus, Dave (Anita), Paul (Debbie), Diane (Keith) Kavli, Debbie (Roman) Kolankowski, Darrell. Sister-in-law Ivy O’Neil, brothers-in-law Vates Anderson, Russell Langdon, Vernon (Jean) Wells.
Denny is predeceased by his parents James and Anastasia O’Neil, parents-in-law James and Gertrude Rowe. Sisters; Rose, Regis, Dale. Brothers; Raymond, Derrick, Phonse, Don. Sister-in-law, Betty (John) Gidge. Brothers-in-law; Raymond (Betty) Rowe, Louie Merrilees, Vic Guimond.
As per Deans wishes, cremation has taken place. At this time, there will be no viewing or service. The family is taking time to mourn and will hold a private Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Palliative Care unit
