Gladys loved to cook, bake, knit and entertain her family and friends. She had such a great sense of humor, was always telling jokes before every meeting she attended. The opening meeting was always a joke. She was a committed and devoted volunteer having served 21 years with the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Auxiliary where she held many executive positions and continued to maintain the role of president right up to her passing. Gladys worked 19 years with weight watchers, 32 years as a working clerk with the RCMP and served 16 years as a board director on the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation. She thoroughly enjoyed her volunteer work and was committed to making a difference in her community.
We would like to send a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, students and staff of the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital as well as her wonderful neighbors and friends who were so kind during her time of illness.
Her visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home at 4 St. Marks Avenue on Tuesday, March 18th from 2PM-4PM and 7PM-9PM. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 20th at 11AM with Father Edward Terry officiating. Held at Fillatres Funeral Home Chapel at 4 St.Marks Avenue with an interment at Mt.
