Stanley Ivan Penney

November 1, 1952 - March 17, 2025

Port Hope Simpson, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ivan Stanley Penney announce his peaceful passing on March 17, 2025 in his home with his family in Port Hope Simpson.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories is his darling wife Mildred and their cherished daughter Gail (Carmen); son in law Darnell; granddaughters Tanisha (Nicco), Anita (Robert), and Gina (Devon); great-grandchildren Skylar, Harmony, James, Ellaleigh, and Simon; brothers Austin (Glyness) and Calvin (Julia) and sisters Sharon (Bert) and Charlotte (Gerald). As well as a very large circle of brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He is predeceased by his beloved son Ozzie, his parents Ronald Sr and Clara Penney, brother Ronald Jr and sister Joyce.

Stanley was born and raised in Port Hope Simpson, with Occasional Harbour as his summer home for many years.

Stanley unselfishly worked hard providing for his family. He took great pride in a days work and making a good life for himself and his family. He encouraged his family to work hard and be proud of their accomplishments, and he especially instilled this in his children and granddaughters who admired him greatly for this.

Stanley will forever remain in our hearts. Remembering his legacy will forever guide us through life’s darkest moments. Although our hearts are broken, he will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

The family would like to send a special thank you to NP Amy Melanson for her care and compassion in his final days.
