Please share a memory of Wilfred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we wish to announce the passing of Wilfred Stanley Buckle on Thursday, March 20th at Labrador Health Centre in Goose Bay, NL surrounded by a large circle of his loving family.

Wilfred Stanley Buckle was born on December 3rd, 1932, in Pinware, NL to Ambrose Buckle and Caroline Buckle (Tracey). His brothers and sisters Tom, Jack, Julie (Thomas), Annette (Gordon), Alice (Jim) and Edward (Sylvia), he always held close to his heart.

When he was 9 years old, he moved to L’Anse Au Loup with his loving sister Julie, and her husband Thomas. He was formally raised by Thomas’ brother, Patrick and wife, Jane. Julie’s children: Michael, Lillian and Alice, along with their children and families were an extended family to him whom he loved dearly.

As he often reminisced, it was at 9 years old when he moved to L’Anse au Loup that he first met his “sweetheart” of 65+ years, Margaret.

Wilfred and Margaret were married in West St. Modest in 1960. Their love story is an inspiration for their family. From that love story there came a large, loud and loving family. His children; Leona (Lawrence), Georgie (Rhoda), Caroline (Anthony), Rosita (Marty), Darren (Tina), and Dwight (Nicole).

Wilfred left a legacy and a memory that will forever be cherished by his grandchildren: Renita (Seb), Nadine (Srdjan), Shanna (David), Chad, Laura, Matthew (Nicole), Kent (Chelsea), Martina (Alex), Nathan (Jenna), Mackenzie (Nick), Jonathan, Natalie, Christian and Ava. His Great Grandchildren: Steven, Alex, Allan, Makayla, Joey, Cameron, Jayden, Brooklyn, Jolie, Emmett, Tori, Caleb, Acadia, Cooper, and Calvin. His Great-Great Grandchildren: Nixon, Ellie and Emma.

Wilfred was known as a sharp card player, and a devoted Montreal Canadians fan. He was an avid reader with a passion for History. He loved to spend his time picking berries, gardening and fishing. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Wilfred was a devout Christian, and when he crossed over to Heaven’s gates, he was especially excited to be reunited with a large circle of family and friends that predeceased him. This includes his parents, brothers, sisters and in-laws. Most especially, his beloved children, Joseph, Maria and Samantha.
