The family of the late Olive Reid would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who reached out, sent food, flowers, and endless support and kind words through our difficult time. Thank you to those who also sent Donations and planted trees in Olives name. As well, thank you to the staff and nurses of the Western Long Term Care Palliative Unit, you guys are a group of incredibly special individuals who bring so much comfort to so many. Lastly, thank you to the staff of Fillatres Funeral Home for your guidance and professionalism, especially Jessica Flood, whos gentle guidance through this time was greatly appreciated.  

Olive Blanche Reid
October 30, 1923 - March 22, 2025

It is with much sadness that the family of the late Olive Reid announce her passing on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Western Long Term Care Homes Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook at the age of 101 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Wilson (Linda), Lorraine (Ralph), Doreen (Randy); daughter-in-law: Loretta; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents: Alexander and Clara Maude Clarke; husband: Llewellyn Reid; son: Raymond Reid; great-granddaughter: Katrina Galarnyk; brothers: Phil, Mark, Ted, John, Alex, and sister: Jean.

Olive spent her life active in her church. She enjoyed family gatherings and spent a lot of time at the cabin where she loved going fishing, as well as spending a few winters in Florida.

Visitation will take place at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Monday, March 24, 2025 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will take place at Fillatre's Funeral Home Chapel, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 2:00pm with Majors Brian and Valerie Wheeler officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Western Long Term Care Palliative Care Unit.
