Oh Sylvia I was so sorry to hear of Cec’s recent passing. Cyril mentioned to me this evening he ran into you, and heard of this then. Cec’s name often comes up in old Mill stories and Local 64 dinner&dance reminiscences. We enjoyed our times with you guys. So sorry.

We were so saddened to hear of Uncle Cec’s passing and we send our deepest sympathy to his family and friends. Cec’s compassion for life and nature is exemplary and we will remember and cherish the good times we had together. I have many fond memories of outdoor excursions to the cottage on Pinchgut Lake or snowmobile trips to 12-Mile Dam (i.e. Corner Brook Lake) and other destinations. I experienced my first Firefly on our trip to the Cabot Trail and PEI with uncle Cec’s family and we have many other memories from that trip and others that our families did together, and these will last a lifetime. His dry sense of humour has led to many a family event erupting into “side splitting” laughter and there are many of his one liners that I still use to this day. Please know that we will keep his memories alive in our hearts and minds and we send our love to the family at this very difficult time.

Q: What will you miss most about Cecil?
A: My Heartfelt Condolences to Sylvia and Family.
I got to know Mr. Rowsell, Cecil he insisted I call him, after he came to the hospital and I was caring for him there. He was always so kind, gentle and funny at times even when he wasn't feeling his best.
He always loved to chat. He enjoyed talking about anything outside of the hospital. He told me stories about his days working at the mill and camping when his children were small so many years ago.
He enjoyed listening to my many hobby stories. I would tell him about my new finds, could be an old tool or an out of date electronic item, then we would have a great conversation.
I would visit him often, even when I was working elsewhere, as I loved our conversations and I knew it also helped him break up his long day.
I will miss our conversations dearly, but I will always remember fondly the time we did have the past few months.
Rest peacefully my friend in your special chair with the Lord.
