Obituary of Olive Sybil Chubbs

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Olive Sybil Chubbs announce her passing on March 26^th, 2025, at Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL at the age of 73 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children; Michelle Chubbs and Christopher (Amy) Chubbs; grandson: Michael Chubbs; siblings: Gloria, Mary, Barb, Carol, Steve, Rona and Dawn, Gary; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

Sybil was predeceased by her husband: Sterling Frederick Chubbs; mother: Dola Freelove Carnell (nee: Allingham); father: Stephen Carnell Sr; and twin sisters: Edna-Tia and Nancy.

Friends and family may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL on Sunday, March 30^th, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 31^st, 2025, from the United Church, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL starting at 2:00 pm with Rev. Alice Moores officiating. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the family.

The family would like to send their sincere thanks to the first responders who answered the call. As well as to those who have reached out through messages and calls. Thank you to those who have brought food and visited.
