Obituary of Victoria Bradbury-Spencer (CARD OF THANKS)
CARD OF THANKS
The family of the late Victoria Bradbury-Spencer would like to extend heartfelt thanks and gratitude to everyone that reached out and walked beside us at a very difficult time in our lives.
We were deeply touched and comforted by kind words and support in so many forms: through phone calls, messages (personal or through Fillatre’s website), cards, monetary donations, gifts of food and flowers. Also from those who visited the funeral home, planted trees in mom’s honour, and attended her funeral service (in person or online).
We are deeply grateful to Rev. Tanya White who provided ongoing comfort, friendship and support throughout mom’s final days and in the days following her death. In addition we would like to thank the All Saints Anglican Church community to include the choir, organist (Sandra Hounsell), and the Outreach Committee that provided a beautiful lunch following mom’s funeral.
A sincere thank-you to Dr. Flemming, the nursing staff and support staff of the Long Term Care Palliative Unit. Your compassion and expertise provided so much comfort, not only to mom, but to family members.
Lastly, thank you to the staff of Fillatre’s Funeral Home, especially Mindy Holloway and Baden Cunning, for your guidance and professionalism.
The loss of this beautiful soul is devastating. Our mom is irreplaceable. We were deeply comforted by all of your kind words and gestures. They will not be forgotten.

(nee Fraser)
May 25, 1933 – March 27, 2025
Corner Brook, NL
It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Victoria (Vicki) Bradbury-Spencer announces her passing on Thursday, March 27, 2025 after a short illness at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Long Term Care, at the age of 91 years (Her beloved mother, Elsie Fraser, passed on the same date in 2006).
Vicki leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Gary (Trudy), Ted (Susan), Glenda (Roy) Cunning, Carl (Wendy), Robert (Gertrude) and Mark (Beth); grandchildren: Nicole, Deborah, Victoria, Brandi, Sandee, Ian, Michelle, Kayla, Amy, Emily, Hayward, Devin, Luna, Makaela, Jacob, Hannah, Thomas, William and Christopher; great-grandchildren: Joshua, Alec, Jonah, Harrison, Rory, Sidney, Garrett, Alyssa, Ava, Piper, Venn, Valen, Grace, Ben, Zola, Max, Kasen, Elliott, Stella Rae, Aspen and Vesper; brother Robert (Shirley) Fraser; sister Germaine Richards; brother-in-law Eldon Strangemore; sisters-in-law: Ruby Fraser and Mona Fraser; Hayward’s siblings: Ches, James (Inez), Robert (Mae), Ruby (Hayward), Brenda and their families; Bertram’s family: Margaret (Donald) Alyward, Marie Cole, Joan (Bryan) Taylor, Brian Spencer, special nieces Judy (Craig) Snelgrove and Cindy (Frank) Hynes and their families; daughter-in-law Pamela Gill (Jerry Etienne), special family friend Elaine O’Keefe, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Vicki was predeceased by her first husband Hayward Bradbury in 1984, second husband Bertram Spencer in 2014, grandson Aaron Hayward Bradbury in 2004, parents Elsie and Carleton Fraser, sister Eileen Strangemore, brothers Ralph Fraser and Carl Fraser, parents-in-law Muriel and James Bradbury, and brothers-in-law Robert Richards, Fraser Bradbury, John Bradbury and Frederick Rowsell. Her much-loved aunt, Maude Gosse, passed, as Vicki did, on March 27, 2025.
Vicki led an active life right up to the end. She loved to hike, and in her later years, take walks. She was proud that she had hiked Gros Morne Mountain in her late 60s. She cross-country skied into her 80s. She rode on Gary’s motorcycle, and even parasailed with Robert in Turks and Caicos on her 80th birthday! Vicki loved to travel and cruise and enjoyed many vacations with family and friends. She loved a good game of Cribbage, Skip-Bo or 120s, especially if it came with a nice glass of wine. Vicki loved to dance – at her last New Year’s Eve Ball (2024) she danced well into the night. She also loved crossword puzzles, reading and had a real penchant for watching “rom-coms,” as she was a true romantic at heart. All of these activities she did surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and loving friends. Vicki loved her life, she loved people, especially her family, to whom she was loyal and loving. She will be remembered forever for the kind, compassionate and loving person she was.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from the hours of 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue.
