Obituary of Amos Elliott

Please share a memory of Amos to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Amos Elliott announce his passing on April 1st, 2025, at the Labrador Health Centre, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL at the age of 84 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children: Tammy Elliott and Morgan (Lois) Elliott: grandchildren: Timmy (Megan), Brittany (Katy), Hayley and Merissa; and his special little gem, his pup Jaxy.

Amos was predeceased by his wife: Faye; son: Lorne, grandson: Dillon; parents: Bertram and Maude; brothers: Oswald and Caleb; sisters: Rachael, Yvonne, Millie, Edith, Dora and Gladys.

Amos was a man of great character who devoted his life to his family and friends. He found joy in the simple things—spending time with loved ones, sharing laughter and stories sitting at his kitchen table over a cup of tea, quickly  inviting everyone to his garage for a chat and embracing the beauty of the outdoors. Amos was a hardworking man, he led by example, instilling strong values in those around him through his actions and unwavering support.

One of his greatest passions was nature. He loved camping, fishing, and the adventure of hunting. He eagerly awaited the summer months when he could plant his garden and rush to gather a few gallons of berries. These moments brought him peace and fulfillment, especially when shared with family and friends.

Amos was kind, caring, and generous, always ready to lend a helping hand. He leaves behind a lifetime of wisdom, treasured memories, and a love that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.

Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the love he gave and the memories he created. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty of the heavens, just as he cherished the beauty of the earth.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 6th, 2025, at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL, starting at 2:00 pm with Rev Nellie Thomas officiating.

Thank you to all the dedicated nurses, doctors, and health care professionals who cared for him at the Labrador Health Centre, Happy Valley-Goose Bay and a special thank you to Dr,. Curran who delicately cared for him over the years and his special nurses Kara and Kyle who went above and beyond to keep him comfortable. Our appreciation cannot be expressed enough. Also, a special thanks to Rev. Nellie for her visits and prayers when needed the most.
