It is with profound sadness the family of Elizabeth Esther (Coffey) LeMoine. announce her passing at Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility, on April 01, 2025, at the age of 101.
Leaving to mourn her children, Theodore (Deborah), and Christine; grandchildren Thomas, Emily, and Geoff. She is predeceased by her husband Donner, her parents James Coffey and Eva Matilda Gilcrest, also her brothers and sisters, Masie, Noel, Phoebe, Joan, Jimmie, John, Marjorie, and Isabel.
Born and raised in Cavan, S. Ireland, she completed her nursing education in Belfast and London. She immigrated to Newfoundland as a nurse/midwife. Beginning a long and varied career in Norris Point Cottage hospital in 1953, as Nurse Coffey. She continued working as a nurse until her retirement, and considered herself still to be a nurse till her passing.
An active gardener all her life, she thoroughly enjoyed nature. She completed an ascent of Gros Morne Mountain at age 75. She was an active member of Pasadena Cross Ski and Nature Park. As an octogenarian she was exempt from seasonal membership fees.
She will be missed by a circle of close friends, and the ladies of St. David’s bible study group in Pasadena.
Special thanks to her friend Agnes, and the kind and caring staff of Deer Lake Manor. Heart felt thanks also to staff and friends at Corner Brook Long Term Care facility.
Cremation has taken place, and a remembrance service with interment to follow in early June.
