Aunt Pierrette
When I heard the news of your passing I let out a cry of sadness, and of relief knowing that you’re no longer suffering, trapped in your own mind, taken from us many years ago, and much to soon. I know you can hear and see us again and now watch over your loved ones.
Ive missed your visits at my moms and dads (Gladys and Mervyns).
Ive missed your kind demeanour and generosity.
I’ve missed hearing you say; in your perfect long point accent
Oh that’s you my « lové »
I’ll see you « bomby’h»
I’ve missed when you would randomly show up At moms with a bag of clothes for
us kids to dig through (I’d always find something special.., and weird to wear)
I’ve missed making sucre a la cream and potato donuts in your kitchen.
You always had something ready to feed us, when we dropped in.
I’ve missed days spent at the cabin on basin island picking mussels and playing “pishnoutte”
I’ve missed days spent at your chalet in belles amour and our adventures out around getting stuck in the stinky beach clay, you always had all the patience in the world with us kids. And We spent Easter at the chalet in belles amour one year, we had so much fun and we were so spoiled and loved by you.
I can speak for all of us when I say we loved you unconditionally. We spent so much time together growing up.
I’ve missed visiting you at the weather station.
I’ve missed having a boil up at the cabin at Caterpillar Cliff and seing your smile while all of us are gathered around.
But most of all I’ve missed you.
And you will be missed by many who were blessed to have known you, there’s no doubt about that. Because you brought love, joy and laughter to so many lives.
….
She really did have so much love and kindness to give, not just to people but to animals as well.
my little black dog loved her the moment he met her. A testament to how kind natured she was.
I’ll always admire her for her for being a progressive strong woman for her time. A woman of so many talents.
She was the best first mate in outboard with Uncle Tom.
I loved seing her drive her truck and go on ski-do and 4wheeler, she was so independent and brave in that way.
She had so many talents, like quilting and sewing, she was always fixing or hemming or working on something.
She reupholstered a sofa for mom 30 years ago and it’s still going strong yet.
I could on and on with stories, but I’ll stop here and just say that I will love you forever Aunt Pierrette.
I know your in heaven with Uncle Tom and I know I’ll see you there one day, so I’ll close my eyes and pretend you just walked out the door from mom and dads house and I won’t say goodbye, I’ll just say;
I’ll see you « bomby’h » my « lové »
Love your niece “ « Becké »
