Stella May Penney

July 4, 1935 – April 24, 2025

Corner Brook, NL

The family of the late Stella May Penney (nee Baldwin) wish to announce her passing at Corner Brook Long Term Care, surrounded by her family, on Thursday April 24, 2025, at the age of 89 years. She is lovingly remembered for her sense of humour, her kindness and hospitality. She loved to cook, bake, and travel. In her younger years she was an active member of the Salvation Army Citadel.

Stella was predeceased by her parents Edward and Effie Baldwin, 1^st husband Milton Penney, 2^nd husband Leo Miner, son Ronald Penney, brothers Edward and Ronald Baldwin, sisters Alice Samson, Verna Prosper – Vatour, Evelyn Reader and Elizabeth Fortin.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Penney (Pearl), Barbara Penney, Wayne (Yvonne) Penney, Lorraine Stone (Doug), Jim (Ruth) Penney, daughter – in – law Beverly Penney, and Jerry (Amy) Penney. 15 grandchildren, 16 great – grandchildren, and two great – great grandchildren. Along with a large circle of nieces, nephews, great – nieces, great nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She is also survived by sisters Isabel Buckle, Doris (John) Dunne, Brenda (Ron) Hallett, Rosalind (Gus) Gallahue, Jeannie Keen and JoAnn (Paul) Tulk.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place on April 27^th, 2025, at 2 p.m. Fillatres Funeral Home Chapel on St Marks Avenue, Corner Brook. A Reception will follow the service with interment at a later date. Special thanks to nieces Victoria Baldwin and Sherry Edmunds for their extra care and support during mom’s sickness. As well, special thanks to nursing staff at Long Term Care for their exceptional care and support.

The family would also like to thank daughter – in – law Beverly Penney for her many visits and for keeping us up to date with current photos of our mother.
