Otto Richard Specker (Card of Thanks)

We, the family of the late Otto Specker, would like to express our thanks and appreciation to everyone, for the kindness, love and support shown to our family during this difficult time. Your phone calls, visits, online condolences, cards, flowers, donations and gifts of food were greatly appreciated.

We wish to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Callahan and Dr. Hickey for the exceptional care, compassion, and support they provided throughout Otto’s journey with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), along with the dedicated staff at the Cancer Clinic where he received his chemotherapy treatments as well as his transfusions. We are also deeply grateful to the staff at The Medicine Shoppe for consistently going above and beyond to support Otto’s needs. Their collective dedication made a meaningful difference during a very difficult time, and we will always be thankful for the respect and dignity they showed him. Our gratitude further extends to the compassionate nurses and doctors of the 4C Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, your genuine care and kindness during Otto’s stay were truly invaluable. You were all truly amazing.

We would like to offer a special acknowledgment to Father Terry for his compassionate and comforting visits to Otto during his hospital stay. Your presence brought him peace, and your heartfelt sermon during the funeral Mass will forever be cherished in our hearts. The beautiful eulogy you delivered captured the essence of who Otto truly was, a kind, humble, and gentle soul. The moving performances by the choir and organist added a deep sense of peace and spiritual reflection to the service, and we are sincerely grateful for their contributions.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to the readers and gift bearers, whose participation added meaning and grace to the Mass. Otto’s unwavering faith in the Lord brings us comfort in knowing that he now rests in eternal peace. He deeply valued every act of kindness, no matter how small, and often found strength in the love and compassion shown to him. May God bless each of you for the support, love, and prayers you have so generously offered to our family during this difficult time.

Our deepest thanks extend to all who visited the funeral home and attended the funeral mass. A special mention of appreciation goes to Mindy Holloway and the entire Fillatre's team for their exceptional professionalism and kindness throughout this process. Also, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Mountain View 50+ Club for their gracious hosting of the family reception following the funeral. Your warmth and hospitality provided a comforting space for us to gather and share cherished memories of Otto.
