Her soul slides away “But don’t look back in anger,” I heard you say- Oasis
It is with profound sadness that the family of Pansy Marie Durnford announce her passing after a courageous two year battle with cancer. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, beloved sister, daughter, grand-daughter, niece, cousin and friend. Pansy passed on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, with her family and friends by her side at the Calder Health Care Centre, in her hometown of Burgeo, NL at the tender age of 46. She will be remembered by her quick wit, honesty, sense of humour and countless displays of support for her loved ones and others.
Pansy took pride in her five years of sobriety and dedicated that time to living life to the fullest. During this time she met her soulmate and built a beautiful life together. She cherished quality time with family, specifically during Christmas time. She often cited these years as the best years of her life.
Leaving to mourn with incredible memories are, her husband: Gavin; Children: Madison(Jacob) and Lance, Brother/Son: Reggie(Logan), Parents: John and Pat, Grandmother: Frances(Mom) Cox, Special friends: Denise(Cutie), Trudy, Kammy, Jill and many others. Pets: Katie, Kong and Stewie. Parents in law; Hubert and Joanne Durnford. Sisters in law; Gwen and Jolene(Ches), Niece Shannon and Nephew Parker. Predeceased by her grandfather Reginald Cox and special uncle: Gerald (Boogie).
The family extends their gratitude for the care given to Pansy at The Calder Health Care Centre. An additional thanks to Fillatre’s Funeral Home. A special thanks to all family, friends and community who have shown their love and unwavering support during this incredibly difficult time.
At her request, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for Pansy will be held in their home in Burgeo at a later date.
The family of the Late Pansy Marie Durnford would like to thank all of those who have shown the same kindness she would have given to others. We, the family, are eternally grateful.
