March 21, 1928 - May 17, 2025

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Mabel Margaret Oxford (Davis) who left us peacefully on May17th, 2025 at the age of 97 at Labrador South Health Center Long Term Care Unit.  Mabel was born to William & Isabella Davis of L’Anse Amour on March 21, 1928.  

Mabel married the love of her life, Norval Oxford on April 11,1955 and they resided in Corner Brook until Norval’s passing in 2019.  Mabel and Norval enjoyed their 65 years together. They were very active and where you seen one the other was never far behind.  They both loved to go for walks, going to church, spending time at their cottage in Lark Harbour, traveling to Florida for the winters and loved to cruise around the globe.

In recent years, Mabel faced the challenges of dementia with grace and dignity. While this difficult journey impacted her memory and abilities, the essence of who she was remained.  Caring for Aunt Mabel taught us valuable lessons about patience, understanding, and the importance of cherishing every moment.

Mabel who had no children of her own will be remembered by her nieces and nephews.  

There will be no formal service and a burial will take place at the community cemetery in L’Anse Amour at a later date.
