Obituary of Marion Maude Duke

Marion Maude Duke

April 20, 1948 – May 21, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Marion M. Duke announce her passing on Wednesday, May 21, in Palliative Care at the age of 77. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories is her husband Patrick T. Duke (Corner Brook Long Term Care). Also, her children: Patrick Jr. (Jennifer), Sheldon, and Sherry (Shawn). Also, her brother and sisters: Reginald (Hilda), Wanda, Lana and Linda. She also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Mary Stone and special brother-in-law Elwood Hunt.

The family would like to send special thanks to the many doctors, nurses and staff at WMRH for the care she received during her extended hospital stay. We also thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Palliative Care Unit. A special thank you as well to Rev. Father Edward Terry for your many visits and kind words, prayers and blessings. Thank you to Fillatre’s for your kind and professional services. All of you have made this difficult time a little easier.

At her request, cremation has taken place. There will be private visitation for family on Saturday during which we will hold her service from the Fillatre’s Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue.

No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in mom’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association of NL.
