Alfreda Blanche Watts
July 12, 1924 – May 30, 2025

Alfreda Blanche Watts passed peacefully away at Bonne Bay Health Center in Norris Point on May 30th 2025, in her 101st year.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Georgina Shears, David Watts (Sharon), Sandra Bull (John), Rod Watts (Gladys), and Robert Watts (Mary); her twelve grandchildren Dorcas Shears (Valeri), Jennifer MacLean (Sam), Mark Watts, David Bull (Helen), Kim Clements (Dixon), Paul Bull (Ashley), Jason Watts (Connie), Jamie Watts (Virginia), Thomas Watts (Jenni), Mike Baker (Phyllis), Tara Turner (Jeff), and Kathryn Willett (Arthur); her twenty-one great-grandchildren Brendon MacLean, Ian MacLean, Rylan MacLean, Samantha Bull, Katie Tobin (Shawn), Dryden Fowler, Jaidyn Bull, Jacob Bull, Grayson Watts, Chelsea Watts, Brianna Turner, McKenna Turner, Lucca Strong, Hannah Baker, Mikayla Baker, Elliott Watts, Elise Watts, Jana Matepa, Andrew Clements (Kelsey) and Amy Clements; and six great-great-grandchildren Harrison Tobin, Emberlyn Tobin, Myles MacLean, Milana Metepa, Sasha Matepa and Tye Clements. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews, and her caregiver and special friend, Pauline Payne

Blanche was predeceased by her husband Thomas Watts; her son-in-law Benjamin Shears; grand-daughter Crista Watts Baker; siblings John Butt (Edith), George Butt (Florence), Edgar Butt (Pearl), Florence Humber (Adam), Chesley Butt (Florence), Myrtle Smith (John), and Samuel Butt.

Of all the things in life that Blanche enjoyed, the focus and foundation of her contentment was her love of family and friends. She will be forever cherished and remembered for her love, thoughtfulness, and generosity.

Blanche will be waked at her home at 1 Main Street South, Rocky Harbour on Sunday, June 1st and  Monday, June 2nd starting at 3 pm.

The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2 pm at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Rocky Harbour and has been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Deer Lake.

As we mourn her passing, we will also give thanks for the long and healthy life she was privileged to  have had.

As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the local food bank or a charity of choice.
