Sincere condolences to all of Lee’s family. I met Lee in Jasper to review his progress completing his term of new member field training. His dedication to duty and countless hours he spent getting the job done was nothing short of outstanding. Of the hundreds of new members I interviewed he was one of the top performers. The Force too has suffered a great loss by his absence just as the community he served.

I can still see Lee as a young boy running into our cabin and sitting on the stairs, excitedly panting about how he had just come face to face with the “biggest moose ya ever saw” while riding his bike over to our place. Of course we all had to take off to check it out, and the laughs we all shared when it turned out the moose wasn’t so giant, or even average size, after all. But that was Lee, he loved a good story, and to make people laugh. Though our friendship was closest when we were young, we continued to stay in touch over the years and it didn’t matter how much time passed between our chats or visits, Lee made you feel like it was only yesterday. While there are so many happy memories of our weekends and summers together at our cabins, what stands out the most is Lee’s dry wit and humour and his ability to put everyone at ease. He had a heart of gold and a genuine interest in what was happening with you, regardless if you were longtime friends or had just met. I will forever be grateful for the once in a lifetime hunting trip we took with our fathers and the memories we made during that time together. During my father’s recent illness, Lee checked in regularly and sent messages and photos to help lift Dad’s spirits and wish him well. He was caring, considerate and compassionate, often putting the needs of others before his own. My heart is broken at this unimaginable loss, and my thoughts are with his loved ones at this terrible time. Rest easy my friend, I will miss you and think of you and the good times we shared often.

Friends who over time become your family are a treasure, I consider Lee and all his family mine. Fond vivid memories of life at the cabin keep flooding back. Lees last message to me after our boys had a great time playing together ( at the cabin of course) said " I can certainly look back at our childhood there fondly I can honestly say that there is no place that caused me anymore peace and familiarity than at the cabin" and looked forward our boys growing up there like we did. Memories of later years like when I visited in Jasper or of his and Jessicas beautiful wedding. I told him last minute that my boss let me go and he said " good someone has to keep you Dad in line" oh how he loved to razz Bruce and he loved it from his ol buddy Lee. Lee was quick witted with a sense of humor that always made you laugh. Never knew what he was going to say.
So much more I could say but just hope you know Lee that you will be forever missed. Rest easy my buddy

From the first time we met I knew we were going to be good friends!!! We had a lot in common and we bought the same truck. You would call when your truck was acting up, which I could never understand because you hardly drove it. Haha And after you moved to Pasadena you would call for hot tub advice. I’m so deeply sorry to your family for this tragic loss. Lee was one of my closest friends in depot. His humour was infectious and he loved to make us all laugh. I remember Lee making up a song and singing in his underwear in our dorm. He was one hell of a nice guy and I miss him dearly.

My deepest condolences to all of Lee's family. Lee and I completed the Healing Equine Learning Program together along with his best friend. The three of us remained good friends, I will miss him forever. I was honoured to meet his beautiful wife Jessica and their two boys Christian and Carter, Lee spoke often of them, he cherished his family and was so proud of them. He served his Country and gave all, "Lest We Forget." Lee has found a peace he had not known here on earth. His career was one which asked all of him and he gave all. Jessica, you and your family have paid the ultimate price, may God comfort each of you and may the happy memories sustain you until you meet this wonderful, kind and funny man once again. Death is not the end.
