September 12, 1982 – June 4, 2025

The family of the late Lee Brent Ruth would take this opportunity to thank everyone for the love, kindness, and support expressed to us during this very difficult time.  We were so proud to see, that throughout Lee’s short lifetime, he had touched so many lives and had the most wonderful friends. Your visits to our homes, the many phone calls, texts, cards, flowers, donations made in loving memory of Lee, and gifts of food were greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten. Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories of Lee with us. 

A special mention to the Pasadena Fire Rescue, EMS, WMRH Emergency Department & WMRH ICU Department, Reverend Critchell & Reverend Terry Loder from the Parish of Meadows, Pasadena Royal Canadian Legion, and Fillatre’s Funeral Home for all that you have done for our family during this difficult time.  You all will be forever in our hearts.

It is with hearts shattered by grief and immeasurable sorrow that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved Lee Brent Ruth, who left this world far too soon on June 4, 2025, at the age of 42.

Lee was many things to many people - a devoted husband, wonderful father, cherished brother, treasured son, and valued friend.

Born on September 12th, 1982, Lee was the oldest child of Brent & Joanne Ruth of Meadows. He married the love of his life, Jessica Byrne of Irishtown, in 2012. His life was forever blessed when along came their two precious sons, Christian & Carter. He was always there for his younger brother, Peter, who he never hesitated to offer his love, advice, or just a shoulder to lean on.

Lee completed a 2 year Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Technician diploma at the College of the North Atlantic in Gander, NL and later became a proud Constable with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. With the RCMP, he served for 17 years and was posted in such places as Jasper, Alberta, Iqaluit, Nunavut, and his last posting in Gander, NL.

Leaving to mourn is the love of his life, Jessica Ruth (nee Byrne), their sons who were his pride and joy, Christian & Carter Ruth, parents; Brent & Joanne Ruth, brother; Peter Ruth & Courtney Ells, aunt & uncle; Maureen & Guy Serrick, cousin, Matthew Serrick & Shawn Perry, parents in-law; Clarence & Beryl Byrne, and Jessica’s close cousins: Krista (Chris) Gagnon, and Susan Byrne.

He is predeceased by his grandparents; Utley & Maggie Brake and their infant

daughter Tammy of Meadows, Joseph & Eunice Ruth of Summerside, Paul & Margaret Young of Corner Brook, and Lawrence & Veronica Byrne of Irishtown.

Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on St. Marks Avenue on Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm.

The funeral will take place on Monday, June 9th, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Summerside, NL. The Funeral Service will be live streamed through the following link https://event.forgetmenotceremonies.com/ceremony?c=6166c35d-4099-4ef0-b3d2-bacd6101c252 

Interment will follow at Saint David of Wales Anglican Cemetery in Pasadena, NL.
