Mom loved her cards—whether it was crib, Queens (with all the cheating in the game!), or a good round of Skip-Bo, she was always up for it, from morning until late at night.
She loved going to Bingo, no matter where—from Long Point to Pinware. She was always just one number away from the jackpot. And then there was her love of music and dancing. She especially enjoyed traditional music and a good step dance.
Berry picking was her favourite fall activity—partridge berries with Aunt Mag and Aunt Jose, with plenty of smoke breaks along the way. As kids, we never had a shortage of bread: 12 loaves baked weekly, like clockwork.
A special thank you to Claudia O’Brien for her daily visits and for getting Mom up and on the go; to her homecare workers who helped with her daily needs; to the staff of the Long-Term Care Unit at the Labrador South Health Centre in Forteau; to Zita Pike for organizing the music and Mass bulletins and for arranging for Father Alphonsus to officiate the service. And to everyone who brought food, visited, or supported the family during this difficult journey—a heartfelt thank you from the Glynn family.
