October 5, 1940 - June 16, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Brenda Hazel Traverse on Monday June 16, 2025 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, in her 84^th year.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories is her devoted husband of 65 years Donald, her cherished granddaughters Tara Murray (fiancée John Marche) and Tonya Murray, her son-in-law Lawrence Murray, and numerous other relatives and many dear friends. Brenda was predeceased by her beloved daughter Lorna July 31, 2013.

Born on October 5, 1940 in Curling, Brenda was the daughter of the late Ernest and Pearl Knight and the proud sister of Gary and Laurie Knight.

Brenda will be remembered as a kind, caring and compassionate woman who always placed her family at the heart of her life. She was a dedicated wife, a wonderful mother and grandmother, and a hard working and selfless soul whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 20, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church in Lark Harbour, officiated by Reverend Effie Organ. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Church Hall following the burial service, and all are welcome to attend.

As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to St. James Church.
