Charlotte Selina Ward

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Charlotte Selina Ward on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at her home in Port Hope Simpson, at the age of 74.

She will be dearly missed by her devoted life partner, William Davis; her children, Alfie (Trudy), Doreen, Wavey, Jeannie (Hughey), and Morrissey; and her loving grandchildren: Scarlett, Sylvia, Shane, Kyle, CJ, Kris, Selina, Natalie (Marcus), Ryan, Nicole, Spencer, and Ocean. She is also mourned by her three cherished great-grandchildren—Daniel, Mallory, and Maria—as well as by many other beloved family members and friends.

Charlotte was predeceased by her father, Raymond, and her mother, Emily. Her only wish was to be laid to rest alongside her father. She is also reunited in heaven with her four siblings and one grandchild.

Mom/Nan was born on August 26, 1950. She spent her early years in Snug Harbour, raising a family alongside her partner. She worked tirelessly—first at the stage during the fishing season, and later as a mail carrier in Norman Bay. To support her children’s education, she and her family eventually resettled in Port Hope Simpson.

Charlotte will be remembered as a woman who spoke her mind and stood firmly by her beliefs, even if she stood alone. Her family was her greatest worry—and her greatest pride. She loved them with her whole heart and soul.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, the paramedics, and the nursing staff. Special thanks also to Pastor Troy and Connie, and Reverend Gail.

A family service will be held in Norman Bay, with interment to follow at Hayden’s Cove, Snug Harbour, in the coming days. All are welcome to attend.
