Obituary of Frederick Charles Maidment
Please share a memory of Frederick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frederick (Fred) Charles Maidment announce his passing on July 5th, 2025, at the Labrador Health Centre, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL at the age of 81 years.
Our Dad moved to Goose Bay, Labrador in the 60’s where he met the love of his life, Ruby. They married on November 2, 1968, and soon there after they started their family.
Our Dad always provided for his family, no matter where his jobs took him. He made many long-lasting friendships along the way.
He was a devoted grandfather who made every effort to attend their birthday parties, concerts and all their special events.
Dad found much joy in hunting, fishing and everything cabin related, especially at Mulligan, his cherished retreat, where he loved making memories with his family and forging lasting friendships. If you see a scratch on a rock, you knew Dad passed by!
Dad was a man of few words, but his mischievous humor and playful teasing were legendary. He never missed a chance to make someone laugh, even it meant “letting” you win a game of cards.
Although our hearts are shattered, we take comfort that he is now reunited with Mom.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children: Liz (Steve) Myers, Grande Prairie, AB, Shelly (Frank) Michelin, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL; grandchildren: Aaron Myers, Grande Prairie, AB, Andrew Myers, Grande Prairie, AB, Eric Brown, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL, Julie Michelin, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL and Alex Cahill-Michelin, CBS, NL; sister: Clara Pike; sister in laws: Beulah Maidment, Barbara Maidment, Ruth Maidment, Stella (Jerome) McCarthy, Marie (Henry) Coombs; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
