Joseph Edmund “Bob” Gallant

April 12, 1948 – July 13, 2025

Benoit’s Cove, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Edmund “Bob” Gallant announce his sudden passing at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s on Sunday, July 13^th, 2025 in his 77^th year. 

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his brothers, sisters and in-laws: Callista Eldridge, Jane Brake, Martha Hackett (Tom), Madonna Joyce, Philomena Gallant-Vater (Enos), Alban (Marie), Guy (Cecilia), Kurm, Stephen (Caroline), Gerard, Donald (Judy); sister-in-law Jane Gallant; uncle Leo McCarthy (Bella), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and he had a special bond with his great-great nephew Colson McCarthy. 

Bob was predeceased by his parents Stephen and Cecilia Gallant, brothers Clyde and Basil, nephews Jeffrey, Wesley, Derek Snooks and niece Mary Hackett; sisters-in-law Rowena, Bertha and Rose; brothers-in-law Junior Eldridge and Ches Brake.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Thursday, July 17th  from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. from where  prayers will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Interment to follow at Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic cemetery, Benoit’s Cove.

Donations in Bob’s memory can be made to the Parkinson's Society.

The family would like to thank the staff of Western Memorial Hospital and Health Science Centre for the special care shown to Bob and our family at this time, and a special mention to the Nurses, Doctors at the Health Science on the 5^th floor, south B.
