Obituary of Herbert Morley Park (CARD OF THANKS)
With Thanks
It is with heartfelt gratitude that the family of the late Morley Park wish to express our appreciation for the kindness and outpouring of support during this difficult time. While Morley was a quiet and private man it has become evident over the past couple of weeks the lives he touched. We have been moved by the kindness and generosity of so many. From the numerous calls and messages, cards and meals, to visits and stories shared, our spirits and faith have been sustained during this difficult period. We would like to give thanks to his brothers Ward and Joe and sister-in-law Glenda for their extra help and support. To keep humble, like Morley, we simply end with “Thank You.”

Herbert Morley Park
May 1, 1959 – July 16, 2025
McIvers, NL
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Herbert Morley Park share the news of his peaceful passing after a courageous battle with cancer on July 16, 2025 at the age of 66 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Morley was born on May 1, 1959, to Reuben and Drucilla. He loved spending time with his family. His passions were hunting, trapping and fishing. Especially with his brother Ward. He enjoyed nothing more to sit back and watch his favourite Toronto Blue Jays while enjoying a drink.
Morley shared 42 years with the love of his life Gertie Park. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter and precious memories. He was a proud and loving father to his daughter Roxanne (Michael) Lacey and his son Ryan (Robin) and the most cherished grandfather to his beloved grandchildren: Stephen, Taylor, Liam and Emily. They were his world. He treasured every moment with them and his love will remain with them forever.
Leaving to mourn his siblings: Joe (Lisa), Ward (Glenda), Pat (Evelyn), Missie (Jan) Brake, Robyn and Howard (Janice) Parsons; sister-in-law Patricia Park; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Morley was predeceased by his parents, his brother Brian and Mother and father-in-law Mildred and Benjamin Park.
He was a hard worker. Over the years, he worked many jobs, including the family sawmill, and later on construction across the country.
Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Friday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, July 19 @ 2:00 p.m. at the Epiphany Anglican Cemetery in McIvers with Rev. Terry Loder officiating.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Oliver Holmes and the Doctors and nurses at the Corner Brook Cancer Unit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
