Obituary of June Foley

June (Barbara) Phillips Foley
January 31, 1945 - July 24, 2025

It is with great sorrow that the family and friends of June (Barbara) Foley, nee Phillips, announce her passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on July 24, 2025.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Brian, sister R. Sue (Rusty) Phillips, brother Rob (Jodie), grandchildren, Shauna Gillard (Daniel), Brycen Young (Tonia Cormier) and her beloved great-grandchildren, Oakley and Ocean Gillard. Also leaving to mourn her first cousin Elaine McIsaac, many other relatives and a large circle of friends far and wide.

June was a devoted teacher for over 30 years. She was an accomplished musician and artist and shared her talents with the community at large. June was also a lifelong volunteer giving her time to many organizations such as Bay St. George Long Term Care Auxiliary, Mary and Martha Guild with the Assumption Parish, Bay St. George Folk Arts Council, Stephenville Glee Club and Bay St. George Artist Association. June, the social butterfly who loved to travel, entertain and attend social functions. She formed many friendships around the world. The world is a better place because of her kindness and generosity.

June was predeceased by her grandparents, Angela and Richard McIsaac and parents Molly and Robert Samuel Phillips.

The family extends their appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital and Western Memorial Hospital for their kindness, compassion and care.

In keeping with June's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at Fillatre's Funeral Home, West Street, Stephenville Crossing on Saturday, July 26^th from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm. Funeral mass will take place on Monday, July 28^th at 3:00pm from the Assumption Parish, Stephenville Crossing with Father Maurice O’Quinn officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery, Brook Street. Donations in June's memory can be made to the local food bank or a charity of one's choice.
