Obituary of Mona Payne

Mona Iris Payne (nee Roberts)

August 28,1947 - July 26, 2025

It is with profound sorrow that the family of the late Mona Iris Payne announce her peaceful passing at Home on July 26/2025, in her 77th year, surrounded by her ever Loving family, including her biggest and oldest Brother.

She will be forever missed, and Always Loved by her greatest Joy; her Family: Devoted Husband of 52 years, Curtis Payne. Their Children: Son Brad (Kelly) Payne, Daughter Charlene (Darren) Hutchings. Her two daughters Marilyn Roberts, & Carol Dew. Her Grandchildren: Scott Hutchings, Maria Hutchings, Nikita Roberts. Step Grandchildren Abigail Payne & Calvin Payne. Great-granddaughter Starr Roberts.

Also left to mourn are her brothers: Calvin Roberts, Bob (Doreen) Roberts, Clarence (Lisa) Roberts, Malcolm Roberts, Ray (Paulette) Roberts. Brothers and Sisters In-Law Trevor (Juanita) Payne, Ron (Verna) Payne, Velma (Warrick) Patey, Harold Payne and Jessie Payne. As well as her many Nephews, Nieces, & Cousins.

Mona also leaves behind her closest friends Her Meadows family. As well as countless friends and acquaintances she had met and shared her many stories with over the years. 

Mona’s love, devotion, compassion, strength and selflessness were her greatest traits. Always willing to give without hesitation. Mona had one goal and a sense of purpose in her life - to make one person laugh or smile each day. There is no doubt that she was able to fulfill her purpose through sharing her stories and spending time with those she loved. 

Mona was predeceased by her Parents, Reginald & Hilda Roberts. Father and Mother In-Laws, Gerald & Helen Payne. Sisters: Dorothy (Bud) Roberts, Beulah Roberts, Olive Payne, Rella (Ron) Walsh. Sisters In-Law Eileen (Edgar) Payne, Marina (Gordon) Payne, Grace Payne, Alma Roberts, May Roberts, Mona Roberts. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at St. Albans Anglican Church in Sallys Cove. A second day of visitation will be held on Wednesday July 30th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursdsay July 31st at 2:00 p.m. at St Albans Anglican Church in Sallys Cove, with interment to follow St Albans Anglican Cemetery.
