November 3, 1941 – August 5, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rosemary Barrett (nee Pieroway) announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the age of 83 years. Rosemary passed away at the Western Memorial Hospital, Palliative Care Unit.

Rosemary will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her partner of over 30 years, Junior (Lloyd) Stickland; her sons Roy and John (Pamela); her cherished grandchildren Mandy (Nick), Melissa (Chris), and Jonathan (Kaitlyn); her brothers Rod (Phyllis) Pieroway and Paul (Kathie) Pieroway; her sisters Donna Lehr (Nathan deceased) and Barbara Park; and her brother-in-law Eugene Strickland (Marion deceased). She is also fondly remembered by very dear neighbours Linda and Lloyd Piercey, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Rosemary was predeceased by her beloved husband John; her parents, Charles and Olive Pieroway; her brothers Ben (Marie) and Bernie (Leslie); and her sister Joyce (Lawrence). Their memories live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.

In accordance with Rosemary’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family may visit St. James Anglican Church in Lark Harbour on Friday, August 8^th  from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will commence at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Effie Organ. Interment will follow at the family plot in St. James Cemetery.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at Western Memorial Hospital, especially the Palliative Care Unit, for their exceptional care and concern shown to Rosemary during her time there. Your kindness did not go unnoticed and is deeply appreciated.

As expressions of sympathy, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. James Anglican Church Memorial Fund in Rosemary’s memory.
