 Ronald Guy MacDonald

   June 24, 1941 - August 7, 2025

 

It was with great sadness that the family of Ronald Guy MacDonald announce his passing at the Calder Health Care Center on August  7th, 2025, at the age of 84.

 

He leaves to mourn his special Niece (Diane Reid); And nieces Bessie, Donna and nephew Sheldon and many cousins and close friends especially Barbara and Clayton Porter.

 

Ronald is predeceased by his wife Edythe, parents Daniel and Hilda MacDonald. In laws Dorothy and Raymond. Brother in law Eric (Florence).

 

Ronnie was born on Hunt’s Island and moved to Burgeo with his parents as a young  child.  After high school Ronnie was a salesman on the southwest coast and then later as an Orderly and then trained as a Nursing Assistant.  He worked at Burgeo Hospital and Calder Health Care Center for 35 years.  He was well known for his sense of humour.

 

Ronnie had a great sense of humor and loved visiting with his many family and friends.

 

The family would like to thank Dr. Samak, NP Christina Bungay and all the nurses and staff at Calder Health  Care Center for the care and attention they gave Ronnie while he was a Resident there.

 

A visitation will take place at St. John the Evangelist Church, Burgeo on August 13th, 2025 from 7:00 to 9:00. An internment of ashes for Ronnie will take place on Thursday, August 14th, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist church, chapel, Burgeo at 2:30 PM.  with Rev. Brenda Durnford Strickland  officiating with internment to follow at the Anglican cemetery.

 

Donations, in lieu of flowers, to St. John the Evangelist Church, Burgeo.
