Joan Pinsent

28 February 1940 – 11 August 2025

Stephenville, Newfoundland

With much sadness, the family of Joan Pinsent announces her passing, at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Stephenville, August 11, 2025, surrounded by family love.

Joan was well known for her warm hospitality and gift for bringing people together, hosting countless gatherings that were filled with laughter, good food, and cherished company. She had a zest for life and a deep love for her family and friends. Working alongside her late husband in their business was a source of great pride and happiness. She embraced community and provincial organizations wholeheartedly, forging lasting friendships along the way. Among her greatest joys was time spent with her beloved grandchildren, creating special memories over shared adventures and delicious meals from her own kitchen—where she was known as an extraordinary cook.

Celebrating Joan’s life with much love and cherished memories are her children; Karen Pinsent (David Houston) and Brent Pinsent (Lara Bagu); grandchildren Rebecca Pinsent (Joshua Cox), Felicity Pinsent (Chase Bennett), Ariana Pinsent-White (Cody White); great grandchild Bo Bennett; sister, Amelia Howell; mother of the grandchildren Edith Alexander; and a host of beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
