Douglas Joseph Wells
July 24, 1965 - August 6, 2025.
It is with great sadness that The Family of the late Douglas Joseph Wells announce his sudden passing on August 6, 2025 at the age of 60. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his beautiful mother Margaret, his daughter Kayla (James), grandchildren Nicole & James whom he loved dearly. Beloved brothers & sisters, Barbara (Gordon), Kim, Donna, Melvin (Donna), Regina (Peter), Jeff (Kelley), Clint (Amanda) and his wonderful sister in law Rose, as well as many cherished nieces & nephews. Doug shared a close and cherished bond with his special friend, Kimmie, who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his Father David Wells (2018), brothers Lawrence Wells (2020) and Edward Wells (2025). Doug was a member of the Ironworkers Local 764 where he worked as an Ironworker Rodman & considered one of the hardest workers in his trade by his coworkers . Doug had a passion for the outdoors including fishing and hunting, He loved to share that knowledge with little James down on the beach or teaching Easton & Lincoln how to pile wood, catch fish or rabbits and roast marshmallows. Doug adored all of his nieces and nephews, leaving a lasting legacy of kindness. Doug built an extensive network of friends in his lifetime. He would offer a helping hand to people in his community without expecting anything in return. He took great pleasure in helping others. Thank you to Marilyn Hunt and family for opening up your cabin and your heart as well as all cabin owners, family and friends, our local community including volunteers for your dedication during the search, you are all truly inspiring. Thank you to the Bay of Islands Search and Rescue team, RNC and The Deer Lake Search and Rescue for your endless efforts in locating Doug, professional expertise , unwavering determination and hope, you brought Doug home to his Family. You have shown remarkable commitment and we are extremely grateful. We appreciate the love and support shown to our family during the 3 day search . As per Doug’s wishes cremation has taking place and there will be no service. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Bay of Islands Volunteer Search and Rescue- BOISAR or of ones Choice.
