Terrence John (Terry) Artis
February 12, 1946 – August 15, 2025
Terrence John (Terry) Artis passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, WMRH, Corner Brook, NL on August 15, 2025 at the age of 79 years.
Remembered with much love and fond memories by his sisters Aileen Smith, England, Rosemary Rist, Louisiana and Suzanne (Mike) Joseph, with whom he resided. Nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Brian, Wayne, Paul and Lesley. Grand nieces and nephews: Charlotte, Isabel, Patrick, Wade, Ryan, Jude, Avery and Nate, special grand nieces Julia and Kaitlyn who were a big part of his life and brought him much joy and happiness.
Predeceased by his parents Mary and Albert Artis, brothers-in-law Lenny Rist and Bern Smith.
Terry had a circle of life long friends. When he returned home after retirement he enjoyed many outings with his buddies, chats over coffee and phone calls with friends who lived away.
Terry was a selfless soul, a kind and gentle man always putting others before himself. He loved music, as a young student he performed solo singing at school concerts and in his youth sang in the band The Valiants. He taught himself to play guitar and had an extensive music collection which he enjoyed and shared with others.
Terry graduated from MUN and had different careers overtime. He spent a large part of his adult life in Alberta where he discovered his great passion, a professional baker.
Over the years he visited his sisters often and always delighted us with his delicious bakes. Making bread was his specialty. He was happy to pass along his baking tips and share his expertise with us. He enjoyed time spent with his nieces and nephews and eventually his grand nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank Dr. Smallwood, Dr. Brown, Cancer Care Team and Palliative Care Team and other health care professionals for their care and kindness over the years.
Cremation has take place. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice in his name.
“Forever in our hearts, till we meet again.”
