It is with heavy hearts that the family of the Late Cyril Cormier announce his sudden passing on Thursday, August 28^th, 2025, at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville at the age of 78.

He will be deeply missed by his son, Shawn (Nicki); daughter Trina(Mark); grandchildren: Luke, Alexis, Liam, Isaiah and Morgan; brothers: Raymond( Robin), Marcel (Eileen), Danny (Sharon) and Ricky( Jackie); sisters: Annette (Jimmy), Joslyn( Richard) Legge, Christine ( Ted) Payne, Jackie( Junior) Bennett and Audrey ( Wade) Bennett; special friend Katie Jesso; brother-in-law Michael Kendall, sister-in-law Genevieve ( Wayne) as well many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered as a man with a heart of gold, whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of so many.

Cyril adored his family above all else, -his wife Joan and their family meant everything to him. Some of his happiest moments were spent gathered around the table at Sunday dinners with his cherished brothers, sisters, family and friends. Known for his giving spirit, he was always ready to lend a hand, help a neighbor or comfort someone in need. He was deeply social and loved connecting with his community whether it was sharing daily chats, enjoying a game of darts or sitting down to a hand of cards. Though he is gone, he will never be forgotten. His warmth, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all.

He was predeceased by his wife Joan, son Sheldon; parents: Edward and Yvonne Cormier; sister Genenieve; nephews: Brian Kendall and Cory Payne; nieces: Cindy and Lenore Legge.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 31^st at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing from 2-4p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, September 2^nd at 10: 00a.m from the St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Flat Bay. Inurnment will follow at the church cemetery, St. Teresa’s.

As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
