Ruby May Savory

Port Hope Simpson, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruby May Savory announce her passing on September 1^st, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 85 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories children: Vennis, Ford (Velma), Elaine (Glen), Mervin, Bryant (Gail), Wallie (Stephen) and Pauline; Grandchildren, Jennifer (Mitch), Jodi (Ying), Scottie (Cecilia), Elaine (Adam), Junior (Julien), Linda (Kyle), Charlie (Madonna), Sarah (Tyler), Sandi, Sheldon (Tamara), Caleb (Samantha) and a number of great grand children.

Brothers: Chamberlin, Cyril (Violet), Terry (Karen), Brian (Ruth); Sisters: Alfreda (James), Wallie (Barry), Irene (Bruce), Lorraine (Chung), Pauline (Austin) and sister-in-law Marilyn; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Predeceased by her Loving husband Charles Henry, Mother Clara Penney, Father Ted Penney, Sister Bernice, brothers Fred and Melvin, grandson Joshua and sister-in-law Glayds and brother-in-law Herbert.

Ruby May (Penney) Savory was born in Georges Cove on May 14^th, 1940. She married the love of her life Charles on January 24^th, 1962. She was a very devoted wife and mother and together they raised seven children whom she loved dearly. She spent many hours knitting socks and slippers and found just as much enjoyment giving them to her family and friends.

Friends and Family may visit the Pentecostal Church on Wednesday September 3^rd, 2025 from the hours 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. 

The funeral service will be held on Thursday September 4^th, 2025 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Anna and Rev. Gail officiating.

Interment to follow at the Anglican cemetery where she will be laid to rest along side of her beloved husband.

The family would like to offer special thanks to the Doctors and nurses in St. Anthony NL and the nurses at the Port Hope Simpson Clinic.
